Q1 Randall Roadhouse

The Fish & Chips from Randall Roadhouse in Carpentersville delivered a culinary experience worth savoring. Although slightly on the thinner side, the trio of cod filets was enveloped in a robust, crispy armor that withstood the bite and housed succulent, flavorful fish within. The batter's satisfying crunch gave way to the delectably seasoned, flaky fish, creating a harmonious symphony of textures and flavors.

While not stealing the show, the fries were competently executed - comforting in their familiarity yet lacking standout qualities.

The tartar sauce, however, was a revelation. Even though the restaurant made no grand claims of its homemade origin, the taste suggested otherwise. It was a tart and creamy delight, easily outshining many of its counterparts I've encountered before.

In the grand tally, the filets earned a commendable 4/5, the fries a decent 3/5, and the tartar sauce clinched a resounding 5/5 for its sublime execution.
